Lady Bears Go 1-3 in Farmers' National Bank Holiday Bash

 

The Butler County Lady Bears participated in the Farmers' National Bank Holiday Bash at South Warren High School Thursday through Saturday dropping three games and picking up a win.  Lynsie Clark was named to the All Tournament Team.

The Lady Bears defeated Hart County 54-33 on Saturday afternoon without Madeline Drake, who went down in an earlier game with a knee injury, and McKinsey Smith was still sick.

Butler County took a 28-16 advantage into the locker room at half time.  The Lady Bears were led by Lynsie Clark with 17 points while Katie Graham chipped in 16 points. 

Several Lady Bears saw action in the game.  Butler County out rebounded Hart County 42 to 13.

After an eleven day break from game action the Lady Bears had a hard time getting started on Thursday night as they faced off with Metcalfe County. 

The Lady Hornets racked up 34 points the first half while holding Butler County to 19.  But after halftime the Lady Bears picked up the pace outscoring Metcalfe in the third quarter.  It was too little too late and Butler County fell  59-40.

On Friday night Butler County and Greenwood hit the court.  The Lady Bears came to play placing four players in double figures.  For the second game in a row Madeline Drake was the leading scorer for Butler County with 21 points. 

Greenwood also placed four players in double figures and the two teams battled the boards with 29 rebounds each.  The Lady Gators came out on top 75-67.

On Saturday afternoon the Lady Bears took on the Lady Lakers of Calloway County.  After a rough start in the first quarter Butler County bounced back the next three quarters.  McKinsey Smith was out sick and Madeline Drake went down with a knee injury but Katie Graham picked up the Lady Bears.

Butler County fell  50-42 to Calloway County.
