Runners began gearing up for the Annual Green River Catfish Festival last Saturday with the running of the 31st Green River Road Race. 59 runners and 8 walkers participated in the road race.

The Butler County Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation held their annual JAKES Day last Saturday on the Haynes property in Leonard Oak. Over 120 kids participated in the fishing and shooting events. Several door prizes were given away and lunch was served.

The Butler County Youth Soccer League wrapped up their season last Friday with a party in the BCMS Gym. Over 90 children participated in the BC Youth Soccer League in four different age divisions: U4, U6, U8, and U10.
The Butler County baseball team’s post-season run ended last week with a 2-0 loss to Edmonson County in the 12th district tournament. The tournament marked the first time that BCHS has hosted the event at their new baseball complex.
