On Tuesday, July 22, concerned citizens gathered beneath the first pavilion at the city park to take part in a discussion regarding a new community watch effort. Morgantown Police Chief Charlie Swiney was present to lead the discussion.

Warren RECC is introducing a “Design the Cover” contest for students, grade 7-12, to design the cover of the annual recipe book. There are a lot of creative and artistic students in the WarrenRECC service area, and this is a chance for them to shine.

The Butler County Board of Education met in special session on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 6:30 PM at the Butler County Education Complex. Karen Evans, Debbie Hammers, and Delbert Johnson were present.

On Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at approximately 11:10 hours, a Ford F-450 operated by Larry Mello of Merritt Island, Florida was rear-ended by a Chevrolet Cobalt that was operated by Bryan Embry of Morgantown, Kentucky. This collision occurred on South Main Street near Ashley Plaza.
The first annual “Stuff the Vans” day was very successful according to Garry McKinney director of the Morgantown Mission. “We collected enough school supplies to fill at least one van,” said McKinney.
