On Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at approximately 11:10 hours, a Ford F-450 operated by Larry Mello of Merritt Island, Florida was rear-ended by a Chevrolet Cobalt that was operated by Bryan Embry of Morgantown, Kentucky.  This collision occurred on South Main Street near Ashley Plaza.
Mr. Mello was stopped in the construction zone on South Main Street near Ashley Plaza when the collision occurred.  Mr. Embry was transported to the Medical Center in Bowling Green by Butler County EMS, where he was treated for a head injury sustained in the collision.  Mr. Mello was not injured.  Ryan Embry and Jamie Saunders, passengers in the Chevrolet Cobalt, were not injured.
Bryan Embry was cited to court for DUI and possession of an open container of alcoholic beverage in his vehicle.
Agencies assisting in this collision were the Butler County EMS and Butler County Rescue Squad.
