David Fields, Butler County Judge Executive and Jane Eaton-Henderson, Butler County Chapter NSDAR Regent, signed a proclamation to urge all citizens of Butler County to observe this month as Native American Awareness Month.

MB&T employees donated in 2012

The Morgantown Mission and WLBQ 101.5 have joined together for the third year to raise money for holiday food boxes. According to Garry McKinney, director of the Mission, they need 200 boxes for Thanksgiving and Christmas this year.

The campaign is over, the votes have been cast, and the city of Morgantown has a new mayor and one new council member.  Former Morgantown Chief of Police Billy Phelps has been elected Mayor of Morgantown.  Phelps received 362 votes to 320 votes for Terrell House, and 65 votes for C. Josh Givens.

The Butler County Rural Development Clubs hosted their annual meeting on Saturday night at the Eva Hawes Agricultural Expo and Community Building.  A crowd of over 80 people gathered to celebrate the Rural Development Clubs.

I have served our community as a member of the Morgantown City Council for eight years.   While those who know me might say I’m the last person you’d have expected to become a politician, serving our community is a role I am comfortable with and why I am asking to be your Mayor.
