David Fields, Butler County Judge Executive and Jane Eaton-Henderson, Butler County Chapter NSDAR Regent, signed a proclamation to urge all citizens of Butler County to observe this month as Native American Awareness Month. The awareness began in 1976 and recognition was expanded by Congress and approvedby President George Bush in August 1990 designating the month of November as National American Indian Heritage Month.
