Over $6,000 Raised for Morgantown Mission Holiday Food Boxes

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, to all the individuals, groups, and organizations that donated to the Morgantown Mission Radiothon . “God always takes care of us,” said Garry McKinney, director of the Morgantown Mission.

As of Friday afternoon the total amount raised by the WLBQ 101.5 FM radio fund raiser was $, which equals 205 boxes of food for those in need during the holidays.  The $30 box will contain turkey or ham, vegetables, potatoes, rolls, stuffing, gravy, and a dessert.

This was the third annual remote broadcast from the Mission.  Part of the WLBQ/Beech Tree News family: Smokin Joe Morris, Kathy Thomason, Jeremy Hack, John Embry, Josh Hampton, and Diane Dyer did a live remote from the Mission from 9:00 till 1:00.

“We had a great day and enjoyed helping the Mission,” said Smokin Joe.

The goal was 200 boxes and the community responded.  Money continued to come in on Friday afternoon as well as Saturday.

“We (WLBQ/BtN) want to thank everyone that donated money, took their time to stop by, called in, and spoke with us on the air,” added Dyer.
