2014 Election Results: Phelps elected Morgantown Mayor; Fields re-elected as judge-executive; Ronald Givens elected to city council; Embry elected to State Senate
The campaign is over, the votes have been cast, and the city of Morgantown has a new mayor and one new council member. Former Morgantown Chief of Police Billy Phelps has been elected Mayor of Morgantown. Phelps received 362 votes to 320 votes for Terrell House, and 65 votes for C. Josh Givens. Also, Butler County Judge-Executive David Fields has won reelection, defeating independent Joey Franzell. Fields received 2,427 votes to 1,500 for Franzell.
Ronald Givens has won a seat on the Morgantown City Council, joining five incumbent council members. Vote totals are as follows:

Others receiving voters were Scott Cox 279, Harold Todd Meredith 138, Casey Turci 157, Sandra Joiner Coleman 200, and Chris Sanders 213.
In the race for Kentucky State Senate-6th Senatorial District, Republican C.B. Embry, Jr. has defeated Democrat Will Cox. Embry received 21,962 votes to 15,799 votes for Cox. According to Embry's official campaign Facebook page, he carried Butler, Ohio, and Muhlenberg counties and only lost Hopkins County by 430 votes.
