Chamber President James Runion congratulates Joey Summers on catching the largest catfish of the tournament.  Summers was also the top money prize winner at $2,100.

The 2014 Green River Catfish Festival came to a close on Saturday night during closing ceremonies at the Charles Black Park in Morgantown.  The key part of the Festival closing is announcing winners for the fishing tournament.  Two tagged catfish were caught this year.

Miss Butler County Catfish McKinzey Smith

The first night of the Green River Catfish Festival kicked off with the Miss Butler County Catfish, Miss Teen, and Miss Pre-Teen pageants. This pageant was open to Butler County residents only.

Logansport Road was the site of an early afternoon accident with injuries involving two vehicles - one driven by Sheila Ann Childres and the other by Dustin E. Wester.  Dispatch received a call at approximately 3:50 p.m. reporting the wreck.

Terrell House and Sherry Johnson

Terrell House filed his papers to run for Morgantown Mayor this afternoon at the Butler County Courthouse.  House has served as a councilman for the past eight years.  The filing deadline for city mayor and council is August 12, 2014.
