Butler County Schools 2015 Renovations to start soon

The Butler County Board of Education approved Jenkins- Essex Construction’s bid of $2,103,805 for the Butler County Schools 2015 Renovations in a called meeting. They also approved the Fiscal Year 2016 Tax Rate, leaving it the same, at 39.1 cents per $100 on real estate and personal property. 
Jenkins –Essex submitted the lowest of three bids for the job.  According to architecture Bruce Nelson the project will start mid September with the resurfacing of the high school parking lot and new lighting. The project also includes new safe-entry ways to be put in place at Morgantown Elementary, Butler County Middle School and Butler County High School.
“The high school will get all new bathrooms, paint, new seating in the gym and auditorium, and repairs to the chemistry lab,” said Scott Howard., Butler County Superintendent.
The board also approved entering into a contract with BFW Engineering and Testing Inc. for inspections of the project.  Kentucky building codes requires a special inspector hired by the board for renovation projects. 
The board approved a resolution from the Leader in Me Advisory Council.
