LEXINGTON, KY – Morgantown Mayor Billy Phelps will serve on the Kentucky League of Cities (KLC) Board of Directors for another year. KLC membership elected Mayor Phelps to the Board in 2018 and again in 2020. Each term is for two years.

The Butler County Fiscal Court met in regular session on Monday, September 27, at the Butler County Courthouse. All magistrates were present: Stevie Givens, Kevin Phelps, Timmy Givens, David Whittinghill, and Dillon Bryant.

According to the most recent lobbyist and employer reports, legislative lobbying spending for the first 8 months of 2021 was just shy of $15 million, at $14.9 million.


FRANKFORT, Ky. (Sept. 28, 2021) — Three 2021 graduates of Butler County High School have been named Senator Jeff Green Scholars by the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA).

The Barren River Initiative to Get Healthy Together (BRIGHT) Coalition has released its 2021 Community Health Assessment Survey, and aims to collect as many responses from residents of the 10-county Barren River Region as possible.
