The 2nd District Volunteer Fire Department held their Annual Family Fun Day on Saturday featuring several new events. According to event organizers as of Monday the event raised an estimated $6900 for the fire department.

Butler County United Methodist Women Taster's Luncheon was held on October 23rd, at the Morgantown First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. According to Elaine Daugherty over 126 different dishes were prepared by the ladies.

And that is just what they do, pardon the song pun. You may have noticed, after all the orange barrels were finally moved, that S. Main Street has an increase of foot traffic. This traffic can be attributed to the new addition of a little more than two miles of total sidewalk.

Butler County Schools celebrated National School Lunch Week October 12-16 with various activities at the school level. The theme this year was “School Lunch Snapshot” and participants were encouraged to promote school meals in a positive way via social media outlets.
