Craig Strosnider, DeKalb/Asgrow District sales manager

Todd Ladd, DeKalb/Asgrow agronomist.
Todd Ladd discussed Agronomics of Dekalb/Asgrow.  He talked about disease shield, aka disease protection.

Chad Dow

Chad Dow from Climate Corporation explained how they take any information that you share about your field, couple that with the weather and drive insights on your field.
"This isn’t to replace knowledge you know about your field, but to help you make better decisions," said Dow.
Farmers can even go back to the 1980’s and look at climate conditions.  Visit www.climate.com for more information.

Willie Hawkins
Willie Hawkins from Syngenta Chemical Company discussed Problematic Weed Control for 2017.  Hawkins covered Eastern Kentucky for 14 years before moving back to Bowling Green.  He discussed moving from one chemical to another throughout the years, trial and error, if you will.  According to Hawkins, mares tale and pigweed are the two biggest problem weeds.  They can germinate in fall, winter, spring; anytime there is warmth. It’s been a problem in West Tennessee and Arkansas, bigger than it has been in Kentucky.

Eric Dickerson from Southern States and Marc Price from Dupont were also in attendance.  Drakes Farm Service furnished a steak sandwich meal from Up In Smoke at the Rochester City Park after the meeting.
