The 40th Annual Gilstrap Pie Supper was held on Saturday, September 5th at the Community Center. Due to the heat the cake walk and auction was moved inside and the fans did help. Several went home with cakes, pies, and gift certificates.

On the morning of Friday, August 28, the Butler County NJROTC program had their AMI (Area Manager’s Inspection). Butler County NJROTC falls within AREA 9 and is one of 56 High Schools within; Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, and New Mexico.

The giving nature of Butler Countians was on display again last Saturday at the Eva Hawes Ag Expo and Convention Center in the City Park. The event was a fundraiser for Steve Merideth, who is battling cancer.
