The 2nd District Volunteer Fire Department held their annual fundraiser on Saturday, September 27, 2014 with all day activities. The antique tractor show and parade ride started shortly after 10:00 am.

The Bear Den of Cub Scout Pack 208 has been hard at work this year.  They have completed two of the 12 Achievements needed for their rank and have also earned several belt loops.

Four Butler County High School students have been recommended by faculty/staff members for August student of the month honors based on attendance, promptness to class, participation in class, grades and attitude.  These students are Maddy Murphy, Rachel Phelps, Abby Coomes and Dylan Craft.

A large and vibrant mural was created in the main hall of North Butler Elementary by the fifth grade students.  The three week mural creation process was guided by artist Jesse Ray Sims, of Cave City, and art teacher Kassie Decker.

The annual Veterans Day parade will be November 8, 2014 starting at 2 PM. The parade will follow the route used for all parades, starting at the Morgantown Elem. School and returning there. This will be another full day of activities.

The Women’s Mission from the Renfrow Trinity Church on Brooklyn Road will be hosting a Women’s Retreat on Saturday, October 18th from 9:30-2. There will be special singers and speakers throughout the day, and lunch will be served.
