The Butler County Chapter D.A.R. held its Annual Veterans' Breakfast on Saturday morning, November 12, at the Butler County High School. Regent Lynda O'Driscoll welcomed the group of veterans, family, and friends.

WASHINGTON, Nov. 9, 2022 – Producers can now take a nationwide survey to help the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) improve and increase access to its programs and services for America’s farmers, ranchers, and forest managers. The survey includes new and existing customers. USDA encourages all agricultural producers to take the survey, especially those who have not worked with USDA previously. The survey gathers feedback on programs and services available through USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA), Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and Risk Management Agency (RMA).

The public is invited to attend a retirement receptin in honor of Suzanne Brosnan for 41 years of public service.  The reception is Friday, November 18, in the lobby of the Butler County Courthouse from 1 to 3 p.m.  

Hay availability in Kentucky may be short this winter because of multiple, compounded issues. The variability of yield, quality and number of cuttings indicate the hay supply could get tight. It is important to protect the hay crop you have and use it wisely—that smart conservation and planning will help make hay last longer through the winter. 

Often, we associate environmental topics with springtime, but you can be environmentally friendly any time of the year. Between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day, United States household waste increases by about 25%. This amounts to approximately 25 million tons of garbage.  

The holidays are a great time to reduce your waste and get young people interested in the environment. Here are some ways you and your children can reduce your impact on the environment while still enjoying the season and showing loved ones that you care. 

The 32nd Annual Calendar Girl was held Saturday night, November 5 at the Butler County High School Gymnasium.  This event is the major fundraiser for the Butler County FCCLA.  This years Covergirl is Miss Loryn Robbins.  She is the daughter of Chris and Karrie Robbins.
