Butler Co. Bears moved to (2-0) on the season; the fallen foe this past week was the Breck Co. Tigers now (0-2).  The Bears took advantage of Breck Co.’s inability to take care of the football. Turnovers, five Breck Co.

"Meet the Bears" will feature different athletes from Butler County High School Sports. The first edition is featuring the senior class of the 2012 football team. 

Ricky Palmer (pictured above) is the son of Tom and Shellie Palmer.

Butler County Little League will be holding a second sign-up for fall ball on August 30, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Morgantown City Park. Fee is $25 and players will receive a t-shirt.

A hungry and aggressive team is what Butler County football coach Ryan Emmick expects to find at Breckinridge County Friday night as his Bears (1-0) make the dreadful drive to Harned to face the Tigers, who lost a lopsided 45-6 decision last week at Hart County.

Hillbilly Jim did his part in getting the Butler County Bears ready for the 2012 season.  The Quarterback Club hosted a meet the team night with guest speaker  Hillbilly Jim. Young and old alike enjoyed talking to the former wrestler.

The Butler County High School Girls Soccer team are now 0-2 on the season. The Bears fell to Hart County and Muhlenberg County.

The TBall and Tiny Tot League started play on Monday night at the Charles T. Black City Park.  The Tball teams, which consist primarily of 4 and 5 -year-olds and the Tiny Tots teams, which is 2 and 3 year olds will be playing at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.
