Dewey Shepherd, of Johnson Hollow Road, Morgantown, wrecked on Friday morning, April 24. A little after 10:00 a.m. emergency personnel responded to an accident on Brooklyn Road. Shepherd was driving a 2004 Ford Ranger. According to law enforcement officers, he left the road and hit a tree.

Butler County Fiscal Court and the Morgantown City Council joined efforts to host the 3rd Annual Clean-Up Days over the weekend. Boat Factory Road stayed busy on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday as the county road department collected over 250,000 pounds of junk from residents as of 2:30 p.m.

A single vehicle accident on Hwy 231 at the Butler/Warren County line sent two people to the hospital. Around 2:30pm Tiffany J. Johnson (DOB 3-26-93) was driving a 2003 Dodge Stratus traveling north bound when she lost control of the vehicle.

The Morgantown Care and Rehabilitation Center had their annual volunteer award ceremony to honor volunteers in the community on Thursday night. The event was originated as a way to give back to local citizens who chose to donate their time in the past year.

The United Way of Southern Kentucky had a community Speak Out event at the Education Complex in Morgantown on Thursday afternoon. The event was part of an area wide program to promote communication and effective change in the areas that most need it.
