The Butler County Sheriff’s Department is investigating several burglaries that occurred on Sunday night, January 17, between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. Monday morning.  Several vehicles were broken into on Sha-Ro-Ley, Cedar Ridge, and Hillview Lane.

Morgantown Police Department officers were recognized during the meeting by Chief Charles Swiney and Mayor Phelps for their efforts in the recent rash of burglaries and car break-ins.

The Morgantown City Council unveiled their Morgantown Renaissance plan, and the Mayor gave his State of the City address at Thursday’s monthly meeting.  MPD officers were also recognized for their efforts to combat a recent crime spree.

In 2015 there were 37 coroner calls made by the Butler County Coroner’s office and 20 provisional of death reports signed for cremations to be done.Of the 37 calls made:23 were ruled natural deaths20 provisional of deaths signed for cremation (this rose by 7 from 2014)
