James and Jean Beattie, owners of the soon to open Charley Biggs' Chicken, donated a locking cabinet with brushes and paints to the Morgantown Elementary School art program. The locking cabinet was something that the art progam was in need of according to art teacher Melissa Rose Craven.

This year, Bear’s Den will have a 4 week camp running May 29 through June 22. We will be focusing on Health, Nutrition, Physical Education and Literacy. Our field trips will be health and physical education oriented.

With summer just around the corner, it is time for Kentucky 4-H teens to register for the 2012 Kentucky 4-H Teen Conference.The conference takes place at the University of Kentucky June 11 - 14 and is open to all 4-H’ers who have graduated eighth grade through the age of 18.

The Family Resource Center Hosted "Books and Breakfast" on Tuesday, April 17th at Morgantown Elementary School. Family of first grade students were invited to have a wonderful breakfast prepared by MES Kitchen Staff.

Two teams from Butler County High School competed in the Kentucky Economics Challenge against over 86 other teams from other school districts. Team Brilliance, comprised of Emily Rich, Britney Gruber, Abby Mencl, and Matthew Embry, placed first in the state in the David Ricardo Division.
