William Lester Childress, 62, of  Morgantown, Ky. passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Ky.  Mr. Childress was born January 15, 1954  in Butler Co., Ky. to the late Garland Edwin and Dora Catherine Niccum Childress.  He was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church, shop foreman for M&L Electrical in Bowling Green. Lester enjoyed farming, being a diesel mechanic and flying airplanes. He was  preceded  in death by his parents,  brother Everett "Buddy" Childress and infant brother Raymond Childress.

Mr. Childress is survived by two daughters Heather Leigh Childress of Louisville, Ky. Amanda "Cissy" Childress of Bowling Green; fiancé  Sharon Deweese of Morgantown; three brothers Charles Cameron Childress (Belinda), James Childress and Max Childress all of Morgantown, two sisters Patricia Pendley (Steve) of Provo, Ramona Fisher (Steve) of Morgantown; many nieces, nephews, cousins and lots of friends.
 
Funeral Service will be held at Sandy Creek Baptist Church on Sunday, August 7 at 3 pm,  under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in the Sandy Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 9pm - Saturday from 10am-9pm and Sunday, 12-1:30pm all at Smith Funeral Home.   Sunday 2pm til time of service at Sandy Creek Baptist Church.
