William Lawrence 'Bill' Annis

William Lawrence 'Bill' Annis, 89, of Bowling Green died Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 5:52 p.m. in Nashville, Tennessee.  He was born July 8, 1925 in Butler County, KY. to the late Conley and Eunice Watkins Annis. He is preceded in death by his wife Ruth Wilson Annis, sister Clara Thomas, brother Waldemar Annis, grandchildren Maggie McKeon and Richard McKeon.
Bill retired from the United States Marine Corps after 28 years as a Master Sgt. He served in World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, having done 3 tours of Duty. He retired Wayne Supply and worked as a heavy equipment operator in Florida. He was a member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Morgantown, KY, but has been attending Victory Hill Ministries.

He is survived by his daughter Gail Normand and husband Paul, three step-daughters, Juanita Smith and husband Clyde, Carol Willis and husband Clifford, Janice Hall and husband Gary, step-son Henry Wilson. Grandchildren Debbie, Tammy, Lora, Paige, Kim, Stacey, Missy, Mike, Anita, Lori, 21 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday and after 11:00 am Friday at the J.C. Kirby and Son Broadway Chapel. Funeral service will 1:00 pm Friday at the funeral chapel, with burial to follow in the Bowling Green Gardens. Expressions of Sympathy may be made to the Toys for Tots or the Disabled American Veterans.
