William B. Lawrence Jr., 74,  of Woodbury, Ky. passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green. Mr. Lawrence was born October 13, 1938 in Warren County, to the late William B. Lawrence Sr. and Mary Lydia Neighbors Lawrence.  He served in the Air Force for 8 years and was in the Reserves until retirement, was a  member of the Bowling Green #73 Masonic Lodge, member of Woodbury Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Treasurer, former Mayor of Woodbury, Board Member of the Butler Co. Historical Society.  He worked at Cutler Hammer and retired from the US Postal Service where he served as an account technician for both.  He was a tin smith, enjoyed camping and traveling.  He did colonial demonstrations at schools and was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Lawrence is survived by his wife of 52 years, Laura Neighbors Lawrence of Woodbury; one daughter:  Robin Duckett and husband Todd of Bowling Green; two sons:  Frank Lawrence and wife Denita of Morgantown and Derek Lawrence and wife Andrea of Bowling Green; four grandchildren:  Nathaniel Bratcher, Hannah Beasley, Conor Lawrence and Aidan Lawrence; two great grandchildren:  Garrett Bratcher and Mason Bratcher; three sisters:  Frances Roskilly of Fairbury, NE, Mary Lou Johnson and Jane Whitaker both of Bowling Green and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, Sunday, April 21, 2013 at  2:00 p.m.  with Bro. Murl Gray officiating.  Military Honors will be presented by the Am-Vets. Burial will follow in the Cook Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, April 20, 2013 from 3:30 - 8:00 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m. and Sunday from noon until time of service at Smith Funeral Home.  Expressions of sympathy can be made to:  Butler County Cancer Assistance, The Gideons or The Butler County Historical Society.
