Wilbur Joe Belcher

Wilbur Joe Belcher, age 68 of Morgantown, KY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. Born on Wednesday, February 15, 1956, in Bowling Green, Joe's life was a testament to the values of love, wisdom, and handiness that he embodied.

Joe was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication, exemplified by his 49-year marriage to his beloved wife, Fran Givens Belcher, whom he married on June 11, 1975. Together, they raised two sons, B J Belcher (Emily) and Clint Belcher (Nikki), both of Morgantown, KY. Joe's joy was multiplied with the arrival of his grandchildren, Clayton Martin and Lilly Belcher. Joe is also survived by his brother, Billie Belcher of Morgantown, KY, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur Thomas Belcher and Odessa Estes Belcher; stepmother, Sue Belcher; sister, Linda Sue Embry and her husband, Royce; step sister, Vonda Mills; sister-in-law, Janice Belcher; and his father and mother-in-law, Raymond and Ruby Givens.

Joe's work ethic and commitment to his community were evident throughout his career. He retired from Whayne Supply Caterpillar in Bowling Green, KY, member of Richland Missionary Baptist Church. A man of many talents and interests, Joe was also a proud and active member of the Masonic community. He was a dual member of Woodbury Masonic Lodge #280 and Cassia Masonic Lodge #272, where he served as Past Master of Woodbury Lodge #280.

Joe's passions were as diverse as his skills. He found great pleasure in riding horses, working his mules, buying cattle, and leatherwork. These activities not only brought him joy but also allowed him to share his knowledge and love for the outdoors with others. Above all, Joe cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 1:00pm with Bro. Gary Oberhausen officiating. Burial will be in the Tuck Cemetery with B J Belcher, Clint Belcher, Clayton Martin, Lilly Belcher, Dan Hudnall, Daren Phelps, Terry Richmond, Scott Keen, Craig Cohrn and Denny Page serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 3:00pm - 7:00pm and Saturday 9:00am until funeral time at 1:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel. Masonic Services will be presented by Cassia Lodge #272 and Woodbury Lodge #280 Friday, January 31, 2025 at 6:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tuck Cemetery c/o Jason Clark 2953 Sugar Grove Road Bowling Green, KY 42101.
