Wendell Clifton "Nip" Phelps, 76 of Morgantown, KY passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. Nip was born April 14, 1941, in Butler County, KY to the late Lester and Pauline Shepherd Phelps. He spent his life doing carpentry work and loving his wife, children, and grandchildren. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by one grandson David Russell West; three brothers William, Randell and Big Jim Phelps and two sisters Nola Embry and Sarah Lee.

Nip Phelps is survived by his loving wife Betty Lindsey Phelps of Morgantown, KY; two daughters Joyce West (David) of Morgantown, KY and Carolyn Shepherd (James) of Morgantown, KY; one son Tim Phelps (Pepper) of Bowling Green, KY; four grandchildren Justin West (Amanda), Ethan West (Madison), Holly and Jessica Bruner; six great grandchildren Braxton, Brantley, Branson, Emma, Elliott and Addyson West; three grand puppies Salty, Gracie and Skipper; six brothers Leo, Everett, David, Raymond, Martin and Charlie Phelps; two sisters Marcella Hammers and Helen Henderson and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at 1:00 pm with Bro. Frankie Skipworth and Bro. Ken Tomes officiating. Burial will be in the Grant Phelps Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Tuesday 8:00 am until funeral time at 1:00 pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
