Wendel Kenneth Embry, age 82, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023 at the Grayson Manor Nursing Facility. He was born on Feb. 14, 1941 in Grayson Co. Ky. to Robert Embry and Gracie Goodman Embry. Wendel was an Equipment operator, truck driver and welder assembler for American Air Filter. He loved raising quarter horses, judging horse shows and loved nature and hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Norma Jean Cardwell Embry; siblings SD Embry, Lester Embry, Fredia Matlock and Regina Pack.

He is survived by his children: Deborah Lambert (Joe) of Caneyville, Glen Embry (Lori) of Caneyville, Gwen Embry of Morgantown, DeEtte Lambert of Caneyville and Kellie Flener (Jason) of Morgantown; grandchildren Ashley Clark (Mark), Brooke Romans, Sarah Crume (Jacob), Jessica Neely (Brad), Emily Duvall, Autumn Hernandez (Chalucha), Whitney Embry (Cody) and Zachary Clark; great grandchildren Wyatt Levi Clark, Railey Shreve, Ella Grace Neely, Adrian Hernandez, Katelyn Crume, Owen Heath Neely, Sofia Embry, Miles Crume, Kendal Duvall, Zavier Guy Clark, Nevaeh Hernandez, Macklan Duvall, Xiah Lee and Gracie Jean; family and friends.

Funeral Service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Saturday, Oct 7, 2023 at 2:00pm with Bro. Gary Embry officiating. Burial will be held in the Layman Cemetery in Grayson Co. The visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 6 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm and Saturday from 10:00am until the time of funeral at Smith Funeral Home.
