Walton Vaughn

Walton Vaughn was born April 5, 1935, in the Huntsville Community of Butler County, Kentucky, to the late Osborn J. and Doxie Ferrell Vaughn. After a courageous struggle against cancer he passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 23, 2015, under the care of Gentiva Hospice at Manor Care of Palm Desert, CA, very soon after being transferred there from Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, CA.

Walt was the youngest of four children and the only boy. His two oldest sisters, Mildred Wester and Barbara Drake, preceded him in death. The youngest of his sisters, Zelma Hammers, resides in Panama City Beach, FL. Walton was a veteran who served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1958. During his enlistment he achieved the rank of E-4 and was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, in South Korea, and at Fort Carson, Colorado.

While in Korea he swore that if he ever got back to the States that he'd never leave the U.S. again, and never did. Walt, like his father, spent most all of his adult life horsetrading or buying and selling things--primarily cars. He loved horse races, golf, casinos and dressing sharply!

Walt is survived by Patricia Vaughn of Chula Vista, CA, former wife and mother of their children--son, Wayne Vaughn (Michelle) and grandchildren Samuel, Malorie, Benjamin and Andrew of Land O Lakes, FL--and daughter, Wryn Anderson (Todd) and grandchildren Carlyn, Porter and Rhett of Chula Vista, CA.

In addition to several nieces, nephews and cousins, Mr. Vaughn also leaves behind, among many others, longtime friends Max Van Fleet (TX), Timmy Keown, Donald Hartis and Silbert Hartis (KY) and Debbie Canela Strboya (CA). He also leaves behind others who occupied special places in his heart and times in his life--Margaret Quirk (CA), Sue Rigg (CA) and Bobbie Jean Cash (KY).

Walton chose cremation, but wanted his friends and family to come together in Kentucky, the place he loved. So please join family members, friends and acquaintances for a CELEBRATION OF LIFE for Walt at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Jones Funeral Chapel in Morgantown, KY. In lieu of flowers, please do something nice for your family or donate to your favorite local charity. Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Chapel.

Please share any photos, memories, condolences or light a candle in memory of Walt at www.jonesfuneralchapel.com
