Volley Doris Keown

Volley Doris Keown, 73 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. Doris was born on Saturday, August 1, 1942, to the late William Volley and Ruby West Keown. He was a member of Leonard Oak General Baptist Church, a Kentucky Colonel and retired from the Kentucky Dept. of Transportation. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by one sister Barbara Hatcher, two brother-in-laws Jerry Hatcher and Donald Hopkins and one great nephew Austin Hope.
Volley Doris Keown is survived by Alma Jean Keown of Morgantown, Ky.; three daughters Ann Howard and husband Edward of Morgantown, Ky., Sandra Rife and husband Jeffro of Morgantown, Ky. and Linda Gray of Morgantown, Ky.; one nephew Lindle Keown and wife Noreta of Morgantown, Ky.; step son Jeffrey Gray and wife Robin of Morgantown, Ky.; three sisters Novis Embry and husband Ernie of Morgantown, Ky., Zelmadine Smith and husband Preston of Smiths Grove, Ky. and Lois Hopkins of Smith Grove, Ky; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at the Leonard Oak General Baptist Church Monday May 9, 2016 at 2:00 pm with Bro. Rodney Smith and Bro. Lindel Keown officiating. Burial will be in the Fanny Rone Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 8, 2016, from 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel and Monday, May 9, 2016, from 10:00 am until funeral time at 2:00 pm at the Leonard Oak General Baptist Church.
