Vicky H. “Vic” Cardwell, 77, of St. Francisville, IL passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN with his loving family by his side.He was born on January 9, 1939 in Morgantown, KY the son of Arthur and Media (Colburn) Cardwell. He married Debbie Perry on August 16, 1997 and together they enjoyed eighteen years of marriage. Vic’s family was his pride and joy. He especially liked spending time with his family and his grandchildren… who called him “Pappy”. Among Vic’s hobbies he enjoyed being outdoors, camping, fishing and hunting. He was an avid UK basketball fan and loved cheering them on. He was a proud member and Past Master of the Masonic Lodge # 824 in Butler County, KY. Vic worked for forty years at Sterling Brewery. He treasured the time he spent with family and friends especially at fish fry’s. Vic will be remembered by his loving wife, Debbie Cardwell of St. Francisville, IL; sons, Tim (Kitty) Cardwell of Mount Vernon, IN, Jeff (Andrea) Cardwell of Newburgh, IN; stepsons, Brian (Jenny) Bump and Dave (Susan) Bump both of Mount Carmel; daughter, Lisa (Randy) Goedde of Evansville, IN; step daughter, Candi (Dustin) Vaupel of Mount Carmel; nineteen grandchildren, Brittney Rietman, Lindsey (Scott) Beard, Miranda Goedde, Lauren Cardwell, Haley Cardwell, Madison Cardwell, Ally Speicher, Ethan Speicher, Shaela (Chad) Jameson, Raechel Cardwell, Lindsey (Jason) Hays, Allyson (Jacob) Kratochvil, Davin Bump, Dravin Bump, David Bump, Kendal Bump, Nathan Powers, Thane Tingly and Mark Vaupel; thirteen great grandchildren; brother, Doyle Cardwell of Morgantown, KY; sister, Katie (James) Barks of Morgantown, KY.Vic was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Wanda Hack; brothers, Charles Cardwell and Hoyte Cardwell.Family and friends may gather from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 27, 2016 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home. A Masonic Service will begin following visitation. Family and friends may gather from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Jones Funeral Chapel in Morgantown, KY. Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Butler Phelps Cemetery in Morgantown, KY.Memorial contributions may be made in Vic’s memory to Good Samaritan Hospice, 601 South 9th Street, Vincennes, IN 47591.
