Veneda A. Burden, 82 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. She was born on Monday, June 27, 1938 in Butler County, KY to the union of the late Opal and Eva White Dockery. Veneda and Frank attended Oak Ridge General Baptist Church and as a child she attended the Milam school in Butler County, KY. Veneda loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, listening to gospel music and attending church when her health would allow. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by siblings Helbert (Stella) Dockery, Albert (Margie) Dockery, Neva (Huston) Pharris, Faye (J.W.) Sorrells, Inis Swift and brother in law Clifford Fields.

Veneda A. Burden is survived by her husband of 61 years Frank Burden of Morgantown, KY; two sons Tim (Angela) Burden of Bowling Green, KY and Joe (Gina) of Cross Plains, Tennessee; six grandchidlren Emily (Wes) Gentry of Bowling Green, KY, Mahkala and Ethan Burden both of Bowling Green, KY, Madison, McKenzie and Chase Burden all of Cross Plains, Tenneessee; two great grandchildren Everly Pearl Gentry and Adaline Rain Gentry both of Bowling Green, KY; six siblings Everett (Cora) Dockery of Beaver Dam, KY, Del (Glenda) Dockery of Horse Branch, KY, Curtis Dockery, Harlen (Callie) Dockery, Carlton (Mary) Dockery all of Morgantown, KY and Edith Fields of Louisville, KY; brother in law Buddy Swift of Morgantown, KY and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Sunday, January 31, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Bro. Del Dockery officiating. Burial will be held in the Zion Harmony Cemetery where Bill Pharris, Danny Geary, Scotty Dockery, Brandon Dockery, Chase Burden and Wes Gentry will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm and Sunday 12:00pm until funeral time at 2:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Harmony Cemetery Fund C/O Jones Funeral Chapel P.O. Box 414 Morgantown, KY 42261.
