Vadie Lee Cook, age 78, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Tuesday, (October 25, 2022) at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes.

She was born on November 5, 1943 in Butler County, KY, the daughter of the late Arbie and Lectie Davis Dockery.

She lived for and loved her family, loved decorating her home, going to church, drinking her coffee and sitting outside in the evenings with her husband, Harold. She was a member of the Unity Pentecostal Church.

She is survived by her children, Brenda Byerline (John) of Bowling Green, Sandy Ralph (Melvin) of Morgantown, Darrell Cook (Phyllis) of Leitchfield, William Cook (Carrie) of Nolensville, TN and Wendell Cook (Shannon) of Sellersburg, IN;  eight  grandchildren, Jeff Byerline, Misty Weedman, Kelly Daughtery, Tyler Cook, Shayna Follis, Kaleb Cook, Tanner Cook and Sophia Cook;  eight great-grandchildren; and her eight siblings. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Harold Cook, her son-in-law, John Byerline, one brother, Conley Dockery and three sisters, Sadie Hall, Dean Wray and Ava Allen.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, (November 1, 2022) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Wendell Cook will be officiating. Burial will be in the Raymer Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.
