Tonita Monita Embry, age 94 of Morgantown, KY passed away Thursday, July 6, 2023 at the Bowling Green Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Tonita was born on Friday, September 28, 1928 in Grayson County, KY to the union of the late Ray and Elfie Bratcher Cooper and wife of the late Laymon Embry. She was a member of Chapel Union Missionary Baptist Church and Eastern Star. Tonita enjoyed quilting, crocheting, flowers and word search puzzles. Other than her parents and husband she is preceded in death by one daughter Gale Layton; two brothers Ray Cooper Jr. and Elmo Cooper and three sisters Carmen Patterson, Loretta Alurez and Rita Brooks.

Tonita Monita Embry is survived by two children Kay Lawrence of Sanford, Florida and Judy Ross of Bowling Green, KY; nine grandchildren Kit Dockery of Chickamauga, Georgia, April West of Kansas City, Kansas, Sarah McKee of Morgantown, KY, Phillip Dockery of Nwe York, New York, Adam and Aaron Lawrence of Morgantown, KY, Amber Branton of Sanford, FL, Christa Williams of Bowling Green, KY and Lisa Ross of Bowling Green, KY; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Monday, July 10, 2023 at 2:00pm with Bro. Darryl Dockery and Bro. Robert Bailey officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023 from 10:00am until funeral time at 2:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
