Theresa B. Haynes, a beacon of love and courage, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2024, just one day shy of her 91st birthday. Born on October 18, 1933, in Aberdeen, Kentucky, Theresa's life was a testament to her spirited nature and her unwavering faith.

Theresa was born to Ivan and Elsie Daugherty Kessinger, who preceded her in death, as did her beloved husband, Cloyd Haynes. She grew up in the warm embrace of the Aberdeen community, where she cultivated a life-long love for gospel music and the simple joys of farm living. Her voice was a familiar and cherished instrument in The Travelers Quartet and the Kessinger Sisters.

A dedicated professional, she served as a auditor for nursing homes, ensuring the highest standards of care for the elderly. Theresa grew up as a member of Aberdeen Missionary Baptist Church and later found spiritual solace at New Harmony Baptist Church in New Harmony, Indiana.

Theresa's life on the farm was filled with the kind of contentment that comes from a deep connection to the land and its rhythms. She cherished the time spent with her family, who were the cornerstone of her life.

She is survived by her two sisters, Wilma Ingram of Morgantown, KY, and Alma Woodson of Raleigh, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Sunday, October 20, 2024 at 1:00pm with Bro. Roger Taylor officiating. Burial will be in the Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Harned, KY where Steve Woodson, Eli Johnson, Kirk Johnson, Clinton Phelps, Harold McKee, Reece Filback, Jason McKee and Mike Ingram will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 9:00am until funeral time at 1:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
