Shirley White Daugherty, 70, of Morgantown, KY, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at the Hospice House in Bowling Green, Ky. Shirley was born August 4, 1944, in Morgantown, KY. to the late Estill and Beulah Smith White. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church and worked at Don Lindsey's Grocery for many years. She enjoyed volunteering at 5th District Elementary School and loved making hand made quilts. She also loved fishing, farming and spending time with her family. Other than her parents Shirley is preceded in death by her step-father, Chuck Fulkerson, husband Ronnie Allen of 32 years and husband Ralph Daugherty of 22 years, one brother, Archie White, one sister, Irene Butler and one son, Steve Daugherty.
Shirley Daugherty is survived by two daughters; Rachel Gilpin, husband John, of Bowling Green, KY., and Debi Hoffman, husband Mark, of Westfield MA., Five sons; Tim Allen, wife Nanette, of Oakland, KY., Randy Allen, wife Mary, of Hartford, KY., Ryan Daugherty, wife Darla, of Morgantown, KY., Jack Daugherty, wife Danielle, of Westfield IN. and Rick Collins of Tacoma, WA., one sister, Sue Morris, husband Kenneth, of Morgantown, KY., 17 Grandchildren and 10 Great- Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 11, 2015, at 1:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel with Bro. Gerald Geary officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, July 10, 2015 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel and Saturday, July 11, 2015, from 8:00am until funeral time at 1:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
