Shirley Wayne West, 72 of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013, at his residence. Shirley was born November 20, 1940 in Butler County, Kentucky, to the late Hubert and Myrtle Stewart West. He was a member of Valley Station Church of Christ and retired from Philip Morris in Louisville, Ky. He was preceded in death by one brother William West; brother in- laws Delmus Johnson and Jerry Embry; father and mother in- law Hesbie and Helen Embry and sister in- law Judy Longhenry.
Shirley Wayne West is survived by his wife Joyce Ann Embry West of Louisville, Ky.; sons Anthony West of Louisville, Ky., Alan West and wife Veronica of Shepherdsville, Ky., Winston West and wife Jennifer of Georgetown, Ky. and Wesley West and wife Shelley of Louisville, Ky.; granddaughters Samantha West of Tallahassee, Fl, Amanda West of Georgetown, Ky. and Allyson West of Shepherdsville, Ky.; grandsons Dean West of Shepherdsville, Ky., William West of Louisville, Ky. and Jackson West of Louisville, Ky.; sisters Mary Agnes Johnson of Morgantown, Ky. and Lucille Kitchens of Morgantown, Ky. and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at 10:00am (CST) and burial will be in the Christian Home Cemetery. Visitation will begin Tuesday, May 7, 2013, from 11:00am - 8:00pm (CST) and Wednesday at 8:00am (CST) until funeral time at 10:00am (CST) at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
