Sandra J. Flewallen

Sandra J. Flewallen, known to family and friends as Sandy, was born on October 17, 1960, in Brownsville, Kentucky, and passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Hospice of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, Kentucky. She was a loving, faith-filled, and selfless woman whose life was marked by devotion to her family and the many people whose lives she touched with her warm spirit and kind heart.

Sandy was a member of Belmont General Baptist Church, where her faith was an important part of her life. She loved her family deeply and found joy in spending time with them, visiting with people, and sharing conversation. Those who knew her will remember that she truly loved to talk, and her presence brought comfort, laughter, and a sense of welcome wherever she went. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, George R. “Bob” and Jenell “Nell” Phelps Joiner; her loving husband of 16 years, Carl Edward Flewallen; her brother, Barry Robert Joiner; and parents of her heart, L.C. and Betty Tucker. 

Sandy is survived by her children, Natasha Givens and her husband Brian, Wendy Givens and her husband Russell, and Chris Flewallen all of Morgantown, Kentucky. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Walter Givens and his wife Lilly, Lauren Givens, and Landon Henderson, all of Morgantown, Kentucky, as well as her great-granddaughter, Rylee Kate Givens of Morgantown, Kentucky. 

She is also survived by her siblings, Becky Melton and her husband Jim, and Perry Tucker and his wife Kellie, all of Morgantown, Kentucky. She leaves behind nieces Jennifer Givens and her husband William, Stacy Phelps and her husband Tad, and Whitney Carnell and her husband Dennis, all of Morgantown, Kentucky, as well as her nephew, Robert Kyle Joiner and his wife Kayla of Bowling Green, Kentucky. Sandy was also blessed with many great-nieces and great-nephews, including Emma and Lucas Givens, Marley and Lincoln Phelps, Ian, Eli and Wyat Johnson, Acen Overstreet, and Lily and Brayden Carnell.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 1:00pm with Bro. Cody Russ officiating. Burial will be in the Gabbard Branch Threlkel Cemetery where William Givens, Tad Phelps, Dennis Carnell, Russell Givens, Walter Givens and Landon Henderson will serve as pallbearers and Jim Melton and Acen Overstreet will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 26, 2026 from 4:00pm - 7:00pm and Wednesday 8:00am until funeral time at 1:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
