Ruth Faye Daugherty, age 89 of Morgantown, KY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Morgantown Care & Rehab. Born on Monday, February 24, 1936, in Butler County, KY.

Ruth's journey began as the cherished daughter of Corbie M. and Minnie Wilson Deweese. Her early years in Butler County were filled with the laughter and love of a large family. Though she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Glenward Erdist Daugherty, and her seven siblings, Corbie Deweese Jr., Kenneth Deweese, Dorene Dusky, Doris Coleman, Rollie Deweese, Ed Deweese, and Bobby Deweese.

She is survived by her two children, Ronald Daugherty (Betty) and Sandra Brooks, both of Morgantown, KY. Ruth's joy was multiplied through her three grandchildren, William Givens (Jennifer), Jennifer Piper (Dean), and Jeremy Daugherty, all of Morgantown, KY. Her four great-grandchildren, Emma Givens, Lucas Givens, Anthony Sublett, and Kaylee Piper, all of Morgantown, KY. Ruth is also survived by her brother, Danny Deweese (LoRei), and a host of nieces and nephews.

Ruth's life was a testament to her faith and the simple pleasures that bring richness to our days. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church, she lived her faith-filled life with grace and compassion. Her role as a homemaker was one she embraced with enthusiasm, infusing her home with the aromas of her cooking and the beauty of her sewing. Ruth's spirited nature shone brightly as she relished in outdoor activities such as camping, dancing, and fishing, sharing these joys with family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at 1:00pm with Bro. Gerald Geary officiating.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00am until funeral time at 1:00pm. Burial will be in the MT Vernon Cemetery where Jeremy Daugherty, William Givens, Andrew Deweese, Levi Deweese, Michael Coleman and Jacob Hall will serve as pallbearers.
