Ruda Mae Cook "Rudie" Deweese

Ruda Mae Cook "Rudie" Deweese, age 98 of Glasgow, KY formerly of Aberdeen, KY passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024 at her daughter's home in Glasgow, KY.  She was born on Friday, May 8, 1925 in Ohio County, KY and the youngest of three children to the late Joseph Estil and Anna Jane Cook.  Rudie married William Paul Deweese on August 22, 1942 and they celebrated 57 years together. She was a WWII military wife who then spent most of her married life alongside Paul and their children working the farm of Eden School Road in Aberdeen, KY. Other places she worked was General Electric, Kellwood and Johnsons Farm Produce. Rudie was a long time member of Aberdeen Baptist Church, where she was involved in the women's groups there. She enjoyed the many friendships built there over the years. Rudie's main hobby in her retired years was genealogy. Besides recording her own family history, she inspired and helped many other generations in finding theirs. Other than her parents and husband Paul, she is preceded in death by her brother Raymond Cook of Peoria, Illinois and her sister Ruth Faye Cook Butler of Wooster, Ohio. 

Ruda Mae Cook "Rudie" Deweese is survived by three children Winston Paul Deweese (Brenda) of Georgetown, KY, Rita Mae Neighbors (Jerry) of Glasgow, KY and Janice Faye Annis (Michael) of Wake Forest, NC; seven grandchildren Darin Paul Deweese (Lloyd Withun), Jeremy Scott Deweese (Shellie), Sheila Neighbors Milam (David), Rebecca Neighors Matthews (Mark), James Nicholas Annis (Erin), Kevin Michael Annis, and Cody Brian Annis; twelve great grandchildren Keegan Deweese, Houston Deweese (Lauren), Easton Deweese, Ben Milam (Seila), Lauren Dennis (Andrew), Whitney Wood (Ben), Meryn Matthews, Lance Annis, Ashlyn Annis, Alexandra Annis, Shelby Annis, Anthony Annis, and Alyssa Annis; six great great grandchildren Hayes Deweese, Beau Milam, Fox Milam, Wyatt Wood, Austen Wood and Avett Dennis. The family Rudie leaves behind are thankful and blessed to have had her standing strong in her place as the first of 5 generations.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 1:00pm with Bro. Roger Taylor and Bro. Robert Cooper officiating. Burial will be in the Aberdeen Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 10:00am until funeral time at 1:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Aberdeen Baptist Church 186 Leonard Oak Road Morgantown, KY 42261.
