Roy Givens Jr., 88, of Louisville, Ky. departed this world to be with Our Lord on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. He was born in Greenville, Ky. on April 16, 1929 to the late Roy Alvis and Mamie Ora Porter Givens, he grew up in Butler County, Ky. He was retired from the United States Air Force after 22 years of faithful service, also retired from the Louisville Fire Department after serving 19 years in the Fire Alarm Office. Roy was a member of the Local 345 chapter of the International Association of Firefighters. Mr. Givens will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons Frankie, Patrick and Baby Boy Givens; sisters Edith, Marvene, Eunice and Lorell; brothers Forrest, Edwin, Presley and Robert.

Mr. Givens is survived by his wife of 65 years Anna Givens; sons Roy Givens (Annie), Robert Givens (Carla); grandchildren Katie, Morgan and Mitchell; great grandson Luke; brother Court Givens; several nieces, nephews, cousins and their children.

Services (Funeral Mass) will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Morgantown, Ky. on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 10 am (CST) with Fr. Edward M. Gorman, O.P. presiding. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery at approximately 11:30 am (CST). There will be a fellowship meal at Union Missionary Baptist Church following the burial. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in honor of MSgt. Roy Givens Jr., USAF (Ret) to the Air Force Aid Society.
