Roxie Whittinghill, age 92, of Morgantown, Ky., passed away Saturday, October 12, 2013 at her residence.  Mrs. Whittinghill was born Nov. 26, 1920 in Butler Co. to the late Lonzo and Lilly Childers Burden.  She was a charter member of the Green Valley Church of Christ.  Roxie and her husband Ruil were former owners/operators of Whittinghill Grocery for 46 years in the Jetson community.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband:  Ruil Whittinghill; four brothers:  Elige, Alfred, Ralph and Frank Burden.

Mrs. Whittinghill is survived by 4 daughters:  Faustina Tarter, Christina Flener (Jimmy), Terry Bryant (Lloyd), Becky Justis (Freddy) all of Morgantown;  3 sons:  Michael Whittinghill (Kay), David Whittinghill (Linda) of Morgantown and Kenny Whittinghill (Cindy) of Brownsville; 7 granddaughters:  Sheila Hatcher (Keith), Tina Cardwell (Donald), Linda Cook (David), Karrie Whittinghill Johnson (Buddy), BreAnn Whittinghill all of Morgantown, Lori Bryant Moore (Jason) of Tucson, AZ and Candace Whittinghill Bean of Brownsville; 7 grandsons:  Chad Flener (Carmen), Ryan Whittinghill, Luke Justis (Renee), Davy Whittinghill (Cody), Chase Justis (Sarah), Dakota Justis (Traci) all of Morgantown and Kyle Whittinghill (Brittany) of Brownsville; 24 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren;  sister:  Glodine Forsythe of Morgantown and sister in law:  Nancy Burden of Louisville; several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 15 at 2 p.m. with Bro. Gary Embry officiating.  Burial will follow in the Whittinghill Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday, October 14 from 2:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at Smith Funeral Home.
