Roger Embry, age 77 of Morgantown, KY, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at the U of L Hospital in Louisville, KY. Born on September 22, 1948, in Butler County, KY, Roger's life was a testament to the joy and laughter he brought to everyone around him.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Randal and Myrl Dockery Kessinger, and his wife, Lillian Smith Embry. His legacy continues through his children, Rhonda Johnson (Chris), Wayne Embry (Tina), and Chris Embry (Becca), all of Morgantown, KY. He was a proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Roger's life was enriched by the companionship of his girlfriend, Rosie Troutman of Shelbyville, KY, and her family, Debbie Troutman, Alpha Troutman, Emily Brewer, Sarah Blair, and Robert Blair. His siblings, Mae Wathen of Henderson, KY, David Kessinger (Brenda) of Henderson, KY, and Diane Benefield of Henderson, KY and several nieces and nephews.

Before retiring, Roger dedicated many years as a truck driver for Donnie Phillips Trucking. An outdoorsman at heart, Roger found solace in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, reveling in the tranquility of nature. His love for watching his chickens roam and his joy in sharing these moments with his grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2025 from 12:00pm- 6:00pm at the Leonard Oak General Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Chapel.
