Robert Porter Amos

Robert Porter Amos, 80 of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, February 16,2013, at his residence. Robert was born October 20, 1932 in Butler County to the late Charles Porter and Vercie Elizabeth Baize Amos. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church, Banock Masonic Lodge #824, a U.S. Army Veteran, retired from the U.S. Post office where he recieved the million mile award as a mail carrier, past president and lifetime member of Butler County Fox Hunters Club, and a Kentucky Colonel.  He was preceded in death by 3 Sisters Inez Thomasetti, Lorene Franks and Delores Daugherty; brother Earl Daye.
Robert Porter Amos is survived by his wife Janice Rae Amos of Morgantwn Ky. 3 daughters Deborah Rae Amos of Morgantown Ky., Peggy Sue McNeill of Hickman,Ky.,and  Sandra Kaye Hunt of Morgantown Ky., one son Bobby Amos Jr. of Morgantown Ky., 5 Grandsons Josh Amos of Morgantown Ky., Rodney Gregory of Morgantown Ky., Robert Gregory Of Perrysburg,Ohio, Dustin Embry of Morgantown Ky., and Joey Bates of Mayfield Ky., 4 Granddaughters Jessica Dawn Simmons of Morgantown Ky., Sarah E. Amos of Morgantown Ky., Shonna McNeill of Paterson, LA and Carley Brown of Morgantown Ky., Great Grandchildren Will and Clay Amos of Morgantown Ky.,Gracie Hunt and Kaydence Lykins of Morgantown Ky.,Emily Gregory of Morgantown Ky.,Makenlee, Sophie, and Jagger McNeill of Paterson,La and Adelynn Bates of Mayfield Ky.,one Brother Garland Amos of Wooster,Ohio and several Neices and Nephews.
Funeral service will be held at the Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 19,2013 at 1:00pm with Bro. Gene Garner officiating. Burial will be in the Mt.Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, February 18,2013, from 2:00pm - 8:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel,and on Tuesday, February 19,2013, from 11:00am until funeral time at 1:00 pm at Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church. Masonic services will be held at 6:00 pm Monday, February 18, 2013, at The Jones Funeral Chapel conducted by Banock Masonic Lodge #824.
