Robert Lawson “R.L.” Goff

Robert Lawson “R.L.” Goff, 84, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky went to his heavenly home on Monday, April 22, 2019 at Ohio County Healthcare. He was born October 3, 1934 in Ohio County to the late Buel Oden Goff and Ola Sailing Goff. R.L. retired from Peabody Coal Company and attended McHenry Baptist Church. In his younger life he worked at Chrysler in St. Louis. After retirement he worked as an officer for the Beaver Dam Police Department and was a deputy jailer at Ohio County Jail.

Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sharon Gail Goff and daughter, Pamela Jean Goff Stewart; sisters, Betty L. Geary, Wilda Simpson, Christine Scott and brother, William P. “Pal” Goff.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 65 years, Edith Goff of Beaver Dam; two sons, Ricky David (Melodye) Goff and Christopher Todd (Markeeta) Goff both of Beaver Dam; four grandchildren, Nick Goff, Tarin Allen, Emily Goff, and Shelby Goff; three great grandchildren, Tatum, Avery, and Abigail Renee; three brothers, Bobby Joe Goff of Belton, James (Alma Gaye) Goff of Beaver Dam and Roger (Becky) Goff of McHenry.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, April 26, 2019 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Lelain Geary officiating. Burial will follow in Echols Cemetery in Echols. Friends may visit with R.L.’s family from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday and from 9:00 AM until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
