Robert E. Saunders, 59 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at his residence. He was born in St. Louis, Mo. on September 24, 1958 to the late Calbert and Moreen Coots Saunders. He was an Army Veteran and happily retired as a Computer Programmer. He was a member of Belmont General Baptist Church, enjoyed playing games on the computer, was an avid reader and movie watcher. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends. Robert is preceded in death by his parents; wife Debra Saunders; brothers Tommy and Jimmy Saunders; sister Sandy Colter and nephew Jason Colter.

Robert is survived by daughter Kaitlyn Saunders (fiancé Justin Sewell) of Morgantown; son Alexander Saunders (fiancé Sara Taylor) of Morgantown; two grandchildren Gabriel Sublett and Laylee Sewell both of Morgantown; brothers Daniel Saunders (Jackie) of Greenville, Ky.; Richard Saunders of Morgantown; sister in law Doreen “Tinker” Saunders of Morgantown; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at 1:00 pm with Bro. Gary Embry officiating. Burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 2:00pm- 8:00pm and Sunday 8:00 am until time of service at Smith Funeral Home, Morgantown, Ky.
