Robbie D. McCarty

Robbie D. McCarty, 75 of Bowling Green passed away on August 14, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. She was born on May 14, 1940 in Cleaton, KY. Robbie was a member of Plum Springs Baptist Church and was known to many friends and family as “Nana”. She was a long time employee of Minit Mart Foods and retired from Houchens Industries after nine years in July 2011.

She was preceded in death by her mother and grandparents that raised her; a son Joey Glen McGuyer; a daughter Robbin McGuyer Rhoades; former husband and father of her children Glennis McGuyer; her husband Ray McCarty Jr., two aunts, and three uncles.

Robbie is survived by a daughter Meleah McGuyer Givens (Tom) of Bowling Green; two granddaughters Kaci Givens Isable (Hilton) of Bowling Green and Britney McKinney Lee (Todd) of Morgantown; two grandsons Kory Givens and Tyler Rhoades both of Bowling Green; two great grandsons McGuyer Trace Lee and McKinnon Todd Lee both of Morgantown; two half sisters Sue Fech of Indiana and Brenda Brewer of Central City; a special aunt Pauline Draper and cousin Larry Draper (Ruthie) all of Greenville; a special uncle James “Pete” Hocker (Edna) of Illinois; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of special friends.

Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00-8:00 PM and Monday from 11:00 AM -2:00 PM at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Funeral will be Monday at 2:00 PM at the Lovers Lane Chapel with burial at Fairview Cemetery.
