Richard W. "Rick" Woosley
Richard W. "Rick" Woosley, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on June 12, 2024, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. Born on January 5, 1964, in Leitchfield, KY, Rick's life was a testament to the love and joy he brought to those around him.
Rick spent 28 wonderful years married to his beloved wife, Sandra Taylor Woosley, whom he wed on July 1, 1995. Together, they built a life filled with laughter and cherished memories. He was a devoted son to his mother, Beverly Jean Hatalla Woosley, and was preceded in death by his father, Obie Woosley Jr. A loving father, Rick's legacy lives on through his four children: Shaline Woosley of Caneyville, KY, Elizabeth Woosley Caneyville, KY, Kristy Jones of Roundhill, KY, and Steven Mode of Caneyville, KY. His six grandchildren, Christina Mode, Mikayla Harmon, Heather Mode, Lexie Embry, Casey Embry, and Aubri Woosley, and eight great-grandchildren, Aiden Summers, Paisley Summers, Madilyn Jeffers, Brileigh Jeffers, Castiel Harmon, Harley Harmon, Azazel Harmon, and Eren Harmon, will forever cherish the moments spent in their grandfather's embracing presence.
Rick's life was enriched by the love of his four siblings: Becky Woosley (Leonard), Betty Mudd (Jimmy), Tina Strickland, and Jerry Hatalla. His extended family, including several nieces and nephews, felt the warmth of his generous spirit. He was preceded in death by his brother Jeffrey Woosley and his grandson Brody Embry, both of whom he held dear to his heart.
A proud United States Army Veteran, Rick served his country with honor and dignity. His professional life was spent in the construction industry, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. Rick's interests were as rich and varied as his personality. He was an avid movie enthusiast, a collector of hats, and a man who found joy in working on things. Above all, Rick cherished spending time with his family, creating moments that would turn into treasured memories.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 2:00pm with Bro. Jared Jacobs officiating. Burial will be in the Flatwoods Cemetery where his family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 10:00am until funeral time at 2:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project P.O.
