Richard Leon Chapman

Mr. Richard Leon Chapman, 83, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, died Monday, January 13, 2013 at his residence. The Butler County native was born January 25, 1929 to the late Arthur Blaine Chapman and Maude Cardwell Chapman. Mr. Chapman was preceded in death by his wife Ann Maxey Chapman and a nephew Byron Lee Chapman.

Mr. Chapman was a 1946 graduate of Butler County High School and was a farmer. He was a member of Rolling Springs United Methodist Church, Little Muddy Rural Development, Master Conservationist of Warren County, and served in the US Army during the Korean War.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial in Little Muddy Cemetery in Butler County. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home and from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Chapman is survived by three sons, Richard Chapman (Wanda), Gary Chapman (Veronica), Jerry Chapman (Pat) all of Bowling Green, one brother; Horace Chapman (Sidney) and four grandchildren; Jeremy Chapman (Sara), Lacy Spillman (Derek), Hadleigh Chapman, Brandy Day, two great grandchildren; Kaitlyn Chapman and Allie Chapman.

The family would like to thank Joyce Flener, Gist Goodall, Anna Peay, Doris Martin, Sherry Key, and Felicia Gary for their exceptional care.
