Richard A. "Chicken" Cooper

Richard A. "Chicken" Cooper, age 70 of Morgantown, KY passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his family. Richard was born on Monday, May 26, 1952 in the Neafus Community of Butler County, KY to the union of the late Tildon Singleton Cooper and Edna Faustine Haynes Cooper. He was a member of Oak Ridge General Baptist Church and a electrician for many years. Chicken enjoyed cars, racing, watching basketball games and spending time with family and friends. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by one brother Gary Cooper.

"Chicken" Cooper is survived by his wife of 34 years Sharon Kassinger Cooper of Morgantown, KY; five children David Scott Strasburger (Amanda) of Roundhill, KY, Jennifer Cooper Jones (Tony) of Falls of Rough, KY, Jonathan Wayne Cooper (Jason) of London, KY, Michaela Cooper Corley (Jessie) of Horse Branch, KY and Lauren Cooper Parrigan (Ben) of Morgantown, KY; eight grandchildren Taya Davis (Dwight) of Roundhill, KY, Kenna Strasburger (fiancee Tim) of Roundhill, KY, Tyler Baldwin (Chasity) of New Albany, Indiana, Donnie Campbell of Greenville, Indiana, Ericka Campbell Cross (Bobby) of New Albany, Indiana, Cash Corley of Horse Branch, KY, Caroline Corley of Horse Branch, KY and Shelby Parrigan of Morgantown, KY; 5 great grandchildren; five siblings J.C. Cooper (Martine) of Leitchfield, KY, Lindell Cooper (Carolyn) of Louisville, KY, Christine Gary (David) of Louisville, KY, LaVonne Barnett of Morgantown, KY and Jimmy Cooper (Kathy) of Morgantown, KY and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 11:00am with Bro. Joe Pharris and Bro. Gary Embry officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022 from 3:00pm - 8:00pm and Tuesday 8:00am until funeral time at 11:00am at the Jones Funeral Chapel. The Family Request in lieu of flowers please make donations to the Jones Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses.
