Rayburn Lee Johnson, 79, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020.  Rayburn was born in Butler County on September 1, 1940 to the late Eugene and Katherine West Johnson. He took much pride in his career as a Riverboat Captain for over 40 years. Loved to collect guns, hunt, trap shoot and tell jokes. He is preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Jordan Johnson.

He is survived by his wife Brenda Johnson of Morgantown;  one daughter Jessica Johnson of Morgantown; three sons Steven Johnson and Calvin Johnson (Molly) all of Morgantown and Jason Johnson of Nashville, Tn.;  one Stepson Kelly Hunt of Morgantown.; six grandchildren Nathan Embry of Morgantown, Gabrielle Stark of Morgantown, Jacob Johnson (Ellie) of Morgantown, Ralen Johnson of Denver, Co., Levi and Savara Johnson both of Morgantown; two step grandchildren Kadi Hunt Skipworth and River Hunt both of Morgantown; one great granddaughter Andrea Bratcher of Morgantown.

A Private Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 14 at Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Randall Deweese officiating.  Burial will follow in the Ridgeview Cemetery. Public Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 14 from 9am-12pm at Smith Funeral Home.
