Pearlie Mae Phelps, 79, of Morgantown, Ky., passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at her residence.  She was born in Rome, Ga. on Jan. 6, 1942 to the late David Foshee and Mary Elizabeth Townsend Foshee.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed being with her family and her cats.  She spent a lot of time taking care of her handicapped daughter.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Ertist Phelps; three sons Shelby Phelps, Robert Sampson and William Phelps; two brothers Henry and Charles Foshee; one sister Lucille Slemp.

 She is survived by her daughters Brenda Lawrence (Doyle) of Des Plaines, IL, Barbara Phelps of Morgantown, Linda Rowland (Robert) of Cromwell; one son Curtis Sampson of Morgantown; grandchildren Jason Lawrence (Amanda), Anthony Lawrence, Keith Phelps, Errol Couch (Cheyenne), Gary Couch (Zandra Storms), Crystal Thomas (Bryan), David Couch, Robert Sampson, Kimberlie Sampson, Tiffany Sampson, Curtis Sampson, Jason Sampson, Curtis Phelps, Benjamin Phelps and Delilah Rose Sampson; many great grandchildren; three sisters Doris Fonner, Carolyn Roberts and Sarah Whitt; several nieces and nephews.

 Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 1pm at Smith Funeral Home with Bro. David Youngblood officiating.  Burial will be held in the Newton Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 18 from 4pm to 8pm and Wednesday from 8am until time of service at Smith Funeral Home.
